Bio:
Dr. Mark Bishara completed his undergraduate studies in medical biophysics, at the University of Western Ontario and was a gold medal recipient as top graduate of his program. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Since graduating, he practices in the Durham region with a focus on digital workflow, dental implants, bone grafting material regeneration and tissue regeneration. He currently collaborates with members of the Miron Lab in the United States on tissue regeneration utilizing Platelet Rich Fibrin(PRF). He is a published author on PRF , immediate dental implants and clinical applications. Most recently, he authored a chapter on Partial Extraction Therapy (PET): Single tooth to full arch applications in the best selling “Modern Implant Dentistry” Textbook released by Quintessence Publishing. Bio:
Dr. Lesley David is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who maintains a private practice in Toronto. She is an Associate Clinician at the University of Toronto in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, a Fellow and past examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is on staff at the Mt. Sinai Hospital and The Trillium Hospital. Dr. David is a remedial course provider for the Royal College of Dentists of Ontario in oral and maxillofacial surgery and implant dentistry. She is also on several industry related advisory boards and a key opinion leader for various dental related companies. Dr. David is a co-founder of Global Dental Mentorship. She has numerous publications in implant dentistry. Dr. David lectures internationally on various topics in implant dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Rick Ferguson has been involved in teaching implant dentistry for the last 32 years and has lectured in every major city in the United States and internationally in many countries. He has placed and restored over 10,000 dental implants and maintains a private practice with his wife Dr. Katherine Ferguson in Davie, FL emphasizing dental implants as well as a home in Vancouver BC . They also teach a live surgery course and have been attended by thousands of dentists. More recently he has been a pioneer in developing 3D printing techniques for dentistry.

Mastering the Atrophic Maxilla: Predictable Solutions for the Unsalvageable
Description:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Differentiate between grafting and graftless approaches for treating the severely resorbed maxilla and identify indications for each.

Evaluate diagnostic tools such as CBCT, intraoral scanning, and photogrammetry for treatment planning in atrophic cases.

Understand surgical options including sinus lifts, short implants, pterygoid, and zygomatic implants, and how they integrate into a prosthetic-driven workflow.

Apply prosthetic principles in full-arch rehabilitation to optimize esthetics, function, and long-term maintenance in challenging maxillary cases.

Develop treatment strategies for patients previously deemed non-candidates, improving case acceptance and patient outcomes.
Bio:
Dr. Moemen Metwally brings a unique perspective to oral surgery and implantology. Dr. Metwally has been in private practice since 2012 and has built a career revolving around oral surgery and implantology. His daily practice is limited to implant dentistry from single implants to full mouth rehabilitation utilizing all on x treatment. Including same day loading protocols, including the use of zygomatic and pterygoid implants. He routinely takes on difficult failures that require thinking outside the box for solutions. He has placed thousands of implants over the last decade and understands the challenges that come with difficult or failing cases. His understanding of both restorative and surgery allows for a comprehensive approach. His ability to work with others as a team to treat large and complex treatments has allowed him to continue to grow his network of referrals. Dr. Metwally loves mentorship and looks forward to being a part of another colleague’s implant journey.

Bio:
Dr. Mark Nicolucci earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario in 2006 and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Temple University in Philadelphia. In 2010, he graduated from Temple’s specialty program in Periodontology and Oral Implantology, earning both a Certificate in Periodontology and Oral Implantology and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Nicolucci is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and holds a Mastership from the Misch International Implant Institute. He has been actively involved in continuing education for over a decade, lecturing and attending conferences both locally and internationally. He frequently presents to general dentists on topics related to implant dentistry and periodontics. Dr. Nicolucci has practiced across several clinics in Southwestern Ontario and, for the past seven years, has operated a full-time specialty practice in West Toronto. His practice philosophy centers on delivering high-quality care with a strong emphasis on communication and service to referring dentists. Coming from a family of dentists, Dr. Nicolucci carries forward a legacy of clinical excellence and a commitment to professional development and patient-centered care.
