About the Course

Course Objectives

TMJ dysfunction is only a small part of the problem dentists deal with daily. There are so many other occlusal discrepancies that impact on our dentition.  Never-the-less, dental care may lead to TM joint dysfunction if occlusal discrepancies result from restorative treatment.

In this lecture we will examine how restorative dentists correct malocclusion in the dentate, edentulous and implant supported dentitions. Hands-on sessions will supplement didactic presentations.

Topics Covered

  • Vertical Dimension of Occlusion

  • Occlusal loading on both dentate and implant prostheses

  • Collapsed posterior tooth support, the “roller coaster plane of occlusion”

  • Myofascial Pain Dysfunction

  • TM joint Dysfunction

Young dentists and seasoned veterans will benefit from this presentation.
