Course Outline
This Lecture and Hands-on Course is designed to address critical problems encountered when performing root canal therapy using modern techniques to solve them. Magnification, CBCT and state of the art instruments, irrigation and obturation techniques should allow the clinician to deal with diverse situations removing organic tissue and lowering the microbial bioburden in order to increase the potential for healing and long-term success.
Course Objectives
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
Describe the use of ultrasonic tips to remove dentin and to locate canals like the MB2.
Practice the use of reciprocation and rotary instruments, with their advantages and disadvantages
Identify what irrigants should be used in the root canal system and how to activate them in order to improve removal of organic tissue and biofilm.
Recognize efficient obturation techniques like hydraulic condensation and continuous wave of condensation using injectable gutta-percha.

Dr. Jorge Vera is Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics; Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Buffalo; Kansas City Educator; member of the American Association of Endodontists; Postgraduate Endodontic Certificate from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA, 1993; recipient of the Samuel Seltzer award from the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontics Journal, 2005; Scientific Advisory Board Member for the Journal of Endodontics and International Endodontic Journal. More than 500 lectures in 38 countries including the meetings of the European Society of Endodontics meeting and the American Association of Endodontists. 87 Endodontic articles published and 3 chapters in the books Irrigation in Endodontics 2015, Atlas of Endodontic surgery 2017 and Endodoncia 2011.
