Graft or not to graft, refer or not to refer, is a constant battle in the mind of the clinician trying to make the appropriate clinical decision for addressing this mucogingival defect condition. Understanding the etiology and the risk factors, surgical treatment modalities, and their indications and contraindications helps the general practitioners in their thought process in selecting the appropriate time, case, and technique for this treatment modality.
