Is connective tissue graft still the gold standard in the treatment of gingival recession?
AGD Subject Code: 490

Description:

Biomaterials have gained popularity in recent years due to their advantages over autogenous grafts such as unlimited availability, avoidance of a second surgical site reduction of the surgical time, patient preference. The reduced surgical time and morbidity compared with autogenous grafts are some of the main advantages of these materials as patient preferences indicate.  This lecture review  aims to present the characteristics, clinical applications, and clinical limitations of the Acellular dermal matrix (Alloderm, Biohorizons, Birmingham, Alabama) in the treatment of gingival recession.

Decision Tree for Managing Extraction Sites
AGD Subject Code: 690

Description:

The primary key to successful implant surgery is sufficient bone. Accurately diagnosing the anticipated extraction bone defect will facilitate proper management. This benefits the patient, first and foremost, but also the dentist by simplifying the implant surgery. In this presentation I will review the classification of extraction defects, as well as techniques I have been using for years to predictably restore the ridge in preparation for future implant placement.
