Course Overview
Root coverage grafting has progressed from the use of palatal donor tissue to use of allografts and xenografts . Recipient site preparation has improved from open sites requiring surface incisions to pouch and tunnel preparations with no surface incisions. These advances have produced results demonstrated in controlled trials to be equivalent to the more invasive alternative procedures while enhancing the patient experience during and after surgery. This interactive limited-attendance hands-on course, based on current clinical and biologic research, is intended for dentists who wish to learn more about the tunnel grafting technique (with allograft) for treatment of soft tissue defects.
Learning Objectives

Case presentations, surgical videos, and hands-on exercises provide in-depth knowledge about the use of the tunnel technique to achieve predictable coverage of single and multiple recessions

Step-by-step surgical and suturing techniques are presented and discussed

Attendees perform surgical exercises on pig jaws as they follow an illustrated procedural manual that describes each

step.

Individual instruction will be provided by Dr Boeriu during the exercises.

At the completion of this course, you will have the knowledge and hands-on experience to begin performing the tunneling grafting procedure in your office.
About Dr. Sorin Boeriu
Sorin Boeriu completed the Periodontal Graduate Program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and a PhD in medical sciences at the University of Medicine, Science and Technology of Targu Mures, Romania. Dr. Boeriu maintains a private practice limited to implant and periodontal surgery. He has published articles with emphasise on soft tissue grafting and periodontal/ restorative treatment of carious and non-carious cervical lesion. He is an international author & speaker. And he is a Fellow of the RCDCW, Diplomate of the International Congress of Implantologists, Member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Boeriu is the author of a two textbooks :
