Originally founded in 2002 by David Kochberg, RDT, and Ettore Palmeri, MBA, AGDM, BEd, BA as the Academy of Dental Technology (ADT), the new Dental Technology Academy (DTA) continues its tradition of excellence in education by working with leading dental companies to offer our members a variety of exceptional speakers, seminars and workshops throughout the year. The Dental Technology Academy is a premier academy for dental technical professionals who are interested in being part of a multi-disciplinary, advanced level of education. Imparting up-to-date knowledge to dental technologists is at the forefront of the DTA educational concept. Because the DTA membership is comprised of experienced dental technologists, DTA can offer the unique added advantage of sharing information in a learning environment. In 2022 DTA will continue to evolve as we will now have an Ontario component where members can participate virtually and also live during the 2nd part of the year as the COVID threat dissipates. In 2022 we welcome the Canadian component of DTA members, where technicians from other provinces become members and participate virtually.   In 2022, DTA Members can once again participate in all TIA courses or they can choose four of them. The joint membership option between TIA & DTA has been successful as dentists also attend the DTA courses.   TIA is a clinical academy and gives its members the opportunity to engage with experts in implants, implant-aesthetics as well as business, management and digital workflow.   In 2022 DTA will schedule 4 days of lectures (2 virtual & 2 Live/streaming), while TIA will feature 10 days of ½ day lectures with up-to 20 speakers. We will also create a library of the presentations so members can review them at their own leisure at a later date.
